Who We Welcome
We practice family values and inclusiveness by following the teachings of Our Lord. For many of us, the church is our primary community. As companions of Christ, we hope to deepen our spiritual journey, and to support and participate in God’s mission in the world. We invite fresh insights that will help create new ways of belonging to Love, Joy, Peace, and Justice.
We strive to love as Jesus loves. Our congregation welcomes, includes, and affirms everyone on their journey of faith regardless of race, ethnicity, age, economic status, physical and mental ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Worship Services
Classic Sunday Worship
- Service is at 10:00am.
- Fellowship Time follows at 11:15am.
Spiritual Meditation Service
A new Spiritual Meditation service for families with children is planned for the fall season (see calendar). A meal will be shared afterwards.
What is worship service like?
Sunday Morning
For about an hour, we gather for music, Bible readings, hymn singing, a children’s message, prayers, a sermon, and announcements. An offering is taken that supports several ministries. Children leave for Faith Formation after the children’s message.
Saturday Afternoon
This less-traditional service begins with music and meditation followed by stretching and yoga. Childcare and activities are available for children during the Spiritual Meditation service.
Dress
Dress so you feel comfortable for worship. Our congregation reflects the Bay Area’s diverse community—young and old, progressive and conservative.
After Worship
Sunday morning
Coffee, juice, and snacks are served in the Fellowship Hall so adults can catch up with each other informally. Visitors and guests are welcome.
Saturday afternoon
A community meal opens with prayer. After the meal, small groups gather for discussion and coffee, and children are offered other child-centered activities.
Communion
On the first Sunday of the month, we celebrate Communion in an “open table” presentation, at which all are welcome.
