Small Groups

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17

John Wesley, founder of the Methodist movement, believed small groups to be a place for accountability and spiritual growth. We continue that today in our small group bible and book studies.

In addition, we have other group gatherings including Wonderful Wednesdays and our First Friday Supper Socials that are places for fellowship and forming new connections with one another.

Being United Methodist Christians study begins May 17

New Book Study  - May 17th - June 28th
Rev. Joe Easley is going to begin a new study at 11:15 AM on Sundays after worship on the book Being United Methodist Christians.
He recently used this for a one-on-one study in preparation for adult confirmation. It is good both for adults interested in becoming members of Lafayette LUMC and for current members who would like to review Methodist history and beliefs and better understand United Methodist teaching and structure.
He will host a short introductory session on May 17, followed by 6 hour-long sessions, each discussing a chapter of the book.
People are invited to get coffee, etc. in Fellowship Hall right after worship and bring this back to the Maggie Mae Room.
Direct questions to Joe (easyjoe1947@gmail.com or 812-431-3248).
Please let Ali in the Church office know, if you plan to attend and would like to have a copy of the book ($12) by May 10th, you can call or email her at 925-284-4765 / office@thelumc.org
